Program Description:

The Maine Rx Card is a FREE prescription assistance program that is available to all residents of the state of Maine. The Maine Rx Card program was launched in 2011 to help the uninsured and underinsured afford their prescription medications. The program offers savings of up to 75% on prescription medications and is accepted at over 56,000 pharmacies nationwide. Those with insurance can also use the program for medications not covered through their pharmacy benefits.

The Maine Rx Card is now working with the Maine Medical Association to help create awareness for the free program. The card is accepted at over 56,000 pharmacies nationwide including; CVS/Pharmacy, Walgreens, Walmart, Winn Dixie and Target, among many others.

The Maine Rx Card is a simple solution to the confusing maze of discount programs that have appeared in recent years. Residents of Maine can obtain a pre-activated free Rx card, search drug pricing, and locate participating pharmacies by visiting www.mainerxcard.com.

Maine resident Age 62 and older, or age 19+ and disabled Income at or less than 185% FPL (income limit is 25% higher if at least 40% of yearly income is spent on prescription drugs).

Program Description:

Maine's Low Cost Drugs for the Elderly and Disabled Program (DEL) helps to pay for prescription drugs for people whose income is no more than 185% of the federal poverty level. You must be age 62 or older; or age 19 or older and medically qualified for Social Security Disability Income (SSDI). If you spend more than 40% of your income on prescription drugs, the income level increases.
